Young, dynamic and passionate, that is your host Álvaro Ferrandis at Hotel Märthof. Growing up in a family of lawyers in Madrid, his parents always told him that he should pursue a career in something he was passionate about. He found his inner fire is burning for gastronomy and the hospitality industry, and so he did not learn an academic profession like his parents, but first decided on his greatest passion, working in the kitchen. As a chef, he worked in a wide variety of restaurants and positions, from small regional restaurants to 3* gastronomy.
After his time in the Basque Country, he went out into the world. In addition to his homeland Spain, he visited Germany, Norway, the Caribbean and Switzerland during the course of his career, where he also completed his training as a certified hôtelier at BelvoirPark in Zurich and found the joy of being a host. His background in the kitchen accompanies him to this day and he leaves his signature behind.
